Beef Flank steak is a lean but flavourful cut of beef. This cut is taken from the abdominal muscle of the cow. It is a little tough when cooked but will tenderise with a marinade. This cut is best if cooked to a medium rare and served thinly sliced, across the grain of the meat. The flank steak has fewer calories and contains more protein as compared to other cuts.
