Easy Recipes for Fathers’ Day

Every year on the third Sunday of June, comes a day where we celebrate the joy of Fathers in Singapore. Western Style

Fancy a simple dinner in western style with things you can find in your kitchen? How about some Butter Herb Steak with Fries?

[RECIPE]

Serving Size: 1-2 person / Time: 30-35 mins

Ingredients:

  • 250g Any Beef Steak – click here to see 1974’s chosen steak cut for this dish!
  • Salt & Pepper
  • Some herbs (rosemary / thyme)
  • 2-3 garlic cloves
  • Oil (olive oil / vegetable oil)
  • 2-3 tablespoon Salted Butter

Cooking Instructions:

  1. Pat dry steak with paper towels. Lightly season your steak with salt & pepper
  2. Ready to Make Fries can go into the oven before cooking your steak at this point (Remember to follow the packaging instructions!)
  3. Heat up a pan on high heat (Pan should feel hot when you hover your hand over it)
  4. Drizzle some oil into the pan
  5. Sear the steak for 2-3 mins on each side
  6. Add cold butter, herbs and garlic into the pan
  7. Once the butter melts, baste the steak for 1 min and turn heat off
  8. Transfer the steak with the buttery sauce onto a clean plate and let it rest for 5-10 mins before serving!
  9. Season the fries with some salt or additional seasoning of your choicemkhgghng
  10. Plate the steak and fries, serve and enjoy!

Asian Style

Perhaps you prefer a more Asian Style simple dinner? Try a simple Pork Cube and Egg Fried Rice recipe that is full of love (and ingredients!).

Serving Size: 1-2 person / Time: 20 mins

Ingredients:

  • 250g Pork Cube – click here to see 1974’s chosen meat for this dish!
  • 200g-300g Cold Leftover Rice / Rice left to cool in fridge
  • Diced Spring Onion
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • Salt & Pepper (as desired)
  • Light Soya Sauce (as desired)
  • 1 tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • 1 tbsp butter

Cooking Instructions:

  1. Heat up a large pan and drizzle some oil into the pan.
  2. Put the Pork cubes and stir fry it until seared evenly.
  3. Remove the pork cubes and transfer it onto a plate while you cook the rice.
  4. Put butter into pan. Once melted, put cold rice into pan and mix well.
  5. Pour the egg into the rice and mix until full incorporated in the pan.
  6. Put the pork cubes back into the egg-rice mixture and mix well.
  7. Season with soya sauce, salt and pepper to desired taste.
  8. Scoop into bowl, garnish with spring onion and serve!
